Tuppenny Barn Education has secured funding from Chichester District Council and West Sussex County Council for a new project starting in May 2024. This holistic project is designed to support vulnerable people in West Sussex, to improve life skills and health through participation, and help prepare people for work if appropriate. We will be running
4 courses over the next 18 months with the first starting on 13th May 2024.
The 10 week course will run one day a week on Mondays starting 13th May 2024
The course is for adults aged 19 years and over who are classified as vulnerable. This can include social isolation, low confidence, not engaged in work or other activities and/or those with mild to moderate mental health issues. The course aims to build confidence, increase participation, improve health and develop readiness to work. The course has the therapeutic benefit of working outdoors, gardening for mental and physical health. It will also improve independent thinking skills, social skills and basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Clients will need to be referred to us either through a support or project worker, social worker, social prescriber or GP. Clients are unable to self refer. Referral forms will need to be completed to help ensure that clients meet the referral criteria. The course is free of charge and funding support is available for public transport for those that need it.
