Have your say on local food

Earlier this year, Arun & Chichester Food Partnership led on a project to explore the potential to grow the local food sector across Sussex and the South Downs, resulting in a draft report and action plan to be delivered across the region. This was part of the national partnership between Sustain, the Landworkers’ Alliance, the Food, Farming and Countryside Commission, Pasture For Life and the Sustainable Food Trust, funded by the Rothschild Foundation.

In order to better understand the challenges and opportunities from both our local producers and resident consumers, Food Partnerships across Sussex have co-created two short surveys – one aimed at producers and farmers and the other aimed at residents living in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove, West Sussex and Hampshire.

If you are a farmer or producer based in Sussex or Hampshire, please spare 5 minutes to complete this survey and if you can, help us spread the word by sharing with your networks. Your views are crucial in forming work to support the local food sector.

If you are a resident of Sussex or Hampshire, we would love to hear from you by completing this short and simple survey. This will help us to understand your views on local, sustainable food and help us plan to increase availability and accessibility. We would also love it if you could share with family, friends and networks to help us hear from as many people living in our communities as possible.

Please complete the resident survey here.

Your input will provide important evidence that vastly improves our chances of getting political attention and funding to improve our local food system, and this regional approach will be particularly significant as we move towards a mayoral authority.
